Description : Massimo Inguscio is professor emeritus of Matter Physics at the Campus Bio-Medico University (UCBM) of Rome and member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Active in the field of quantum sciences and technologies, his research mainly concerns experiments with laser light and atoms at almost absolute zero. He is the author of more than 300 publications in internationally distributed books and magazines and the author/publisher of more than 10 books. Student of the Scuola Normale Superiore he taught at the Universities of Pisa, Naples Federico II, Florence and UCBM. In 2005 he received the Grand Prix Scientifique of the Académie des Sciences and the Fermi Prize of the Italian Physics Society. During his career he directed the European Laboratory of Nonlinear Spectroscopy (LENS) in Florence, was President of the National Research Council (CNR) from 2016 to 2021 and President of the National Institute for Meteorological Research (INRIM) of Turin from 2014 to 2016.
