Description : Marco Bellini got his PhD in Physics from the University of Firenze and is now a Research Director at CNR-INO. His scientific activity has spanned a wide range of topics, from high-precision spectroscopy in the Far Infrared, to high-intensity laser-matter interactions with ultrashort laser pulses for the generation of high-order harmonics and supercontinuum. His experiments in these fields played a key role in the path to the 2005 and 2023 Nobel Prize awards in Physics. Currently, he is mostly devoted to Quantum Optics, with experiments involving the generation, engineering, and characterization of nonclassical states of light for testing fundamental principles in quantum mechanics and towards novel quantum technologies.
