Description : Milena De Giorgi got her PhD in Physics from the University of Salento and is currently a research manager at CNR-NANOTEC in Lecce. Her research field is the study of linear and nonlinear optical properties of various nanostructures based on inorganic and hybrid (organic/inorganic) materials and of new physical phenomena in polaritonic systems obtained by strong light-matter coupling in multiphoton to single-photon regimes. In recent years, research activity has focused on the study of quantum polaritonic systems on planar semiconductor microcavity structures based on GaAs and on the study of new materials such as perovskite and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) interesting for their potential application as single photon sources and topological structures.
