Description : Antonio Pifferi is a Full Professor in Physics at Politecnico di Milano, holding the BSc+MSc in Nuclear Engineering, and the PhD in Physics. Director since 2020 of the “Center for Ultrafast Science and Biomedical Optics” (CUSBO). Member of the IEC Committee SC 62D with expertise on tissue oximeter standardization. Co-founder of the start-up PIONIRS S.r.l., developing time-domain tissue oximeters. Author of >200 papers, with an H-index=56. His research activity is focused on the study of photon propagation through highly diffusive media (e.g. biological tissues) for both basic and applied research (e.g. clinical diagnostics).
