2 February 2024I-PHOQS Doctoral School Week on “Extreme Plasmonics and Optical Metamaterials”
22 March 2024Prof. Konstantin L. Vodopyanov (CREOL-University of Central Florida, USA) visited the I-PHOQS facilities in Florence in July and December 2023, thanks also to the LaserLab Europe project “LENS – Terahertz high accuracy molecular spectroscopy”.
He performed accurate spectroscopy measurements in the THz domain, testing different novel set-ups and analyzing the theoretical outcomes of such precise measurements. In this spectral range natural transition linewidths can be very narrow, therefore it is crucial to probe them with narrow-emission tunable sources with precisely controlled frequency. The combination of the know-how on molecular spectroscopy developed at CNR-INO, and of the guest expertise, dealing with frontier non-linear based laser sources In the THz and mid-IR regions, have given the opportunity to extend and improve across the THz and Mid-IR regions different spectroscopic techniques. The facilities used by the Guest were related to Activity 3.7 (Characterization and applications of miniaturized frequency-comb sources) and Activity 4.5 (Non-classical light in the mid-infrared and THz spectral region for quantum sensing and communications).
