I-PHOQS Open Datathon – July 1st, 2025
19 June 2025I-PHOQS project is pleased to invite you to a scientific seminar by Dr. Nina Voronova from the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute): “Spinor Polariton Condensates: Combined Effects of TE-TM Splitting, Interactions, and Rotation” (LINK TO THE WEBINAR). In this talk, Dr. Voronova will explore the complex physics of spinor polariton condensates, with a focus on how transverse electric–transverse magnetic (TE-TM) mode splitting, particle interactions, and rotational effects combine to shape the behavior of these exotic quantum fluids. The seminar promises to deliver insights relevant to advanced photonic systems and quantum technologies.
🔍 Abstract:
In this talk, I will discuss effects associated with the presence of the longitudinal-transverse (TE-TM) splitting in spinor polariton quantum liquids when spin-dependent interactions are taken into account, and also in presence of rotation. I will explore the excitation spectra of the two-component polariton systems and reveal the two velocities of sound, both dependent on direction. Moreover, I will show how the optical spin-Hall effect (OSHE) gets modified by rotation. With the addition of nonlinearities, the rotation changes the OSHE pattern completely, due to the arising combination of a synthetic magnetic field coming from both rotation and interactions, allowing to track the position-dependent effective Zeeman splitting of polaritons with a single-particle precision.
