On April 14th and 15th 2025, the historic Villa Erba in Cernobbio will host the inaugural event of the celebrations for the bicentenary of the death of Alessandro Volta, entitled “Alessandro Volta – Building the future with science”. Professor Paolo De Natale, Scientific Coordinator of the I-PHOQS infrastructure, will also participate in the event.

The event in Cernobbio marks the beginning of a series of initiatives promoted by the National Committee for the Volta Celebrations, established to honor the memory of Alessandro Volta and promote scientific research and innovation in Italy. The committee, officially presented on 11 March 2025, has outlined a rich program of activities that include international conferences, exhibitions and educational projects aimed at new generations.

The presence of Professor De Natale at the event “Alessandro Volta – Building the future with science” represents a unique opportunity to delve into the issues related to photonic and quantum sciences, sectors in which I-PHOQS stands out as a reference infrastructure at a national and international level, in continuous dialogue between scientific research and technological innovation, fundamental elements for building the future in the wake of the legacy left by Alessandro Volta.
