I-PHOQS Doctoral School Week on “Extreme Plasmonics and Optical Metamaterials”
22 March 2024I-PHOQS Lectures: “Introduction to Cold-Atom Based Quantum Simulation and Light-Matter Interfaces” (June 4-6)
29 May 2024Every year on May 16, the world lights up with knowledge, discovery and innovation on the occasion of the International Day of Light. This global celebration, proclaimed by UNESCO in 2018, aims to promote awareness of the importance of light and related technologies for our daily lives and for the future of society. From ancient oil lamps to modern LED bulbs, our ability to manipulate light has revolutionized our daily lives, from lighting our homes to communicating via fiber optics, from medicine to art.
This day invites us to explore the boundaries of scientific knowledge linked to light, in which I-PHOQS is the absolute protagonist as a widespread Italian photonics infrastructure. From quantum physics to advanced materials research, light continues to inspire innovations that stand to shape our future in surprising ways.
The I-PHOQS Operational Units have been involved in scientific dissemination activities to wide audience throughout the day of May 16th, promoting the activities, projects and opportunities offered by the infrastructure in the Italian panorama.
