“Sustainability and Resilience of Italian IIRR” – Meeting in Rome of PNRR Research Infrastructure Managers
4 July 2024We are excited to announce our next training lectures, titled “Introduction to Cold-Atom Based Quantum Simulation and Light-Matter Interfaces,” scheduled for June 4-6. This seminar is a must-attend for anyone interested in the cutting-edge field of quantum simulation and the fascinating interactions between light and matter.
Event Details:
- Dates: June 4-6, h. 14.00-16.00 CEST
- Title: Introduction to Cold-Atom Based Quantum Simulation and Light-Matter Interfaces
- Lecturers: Natalia Bruno, Pietro Lombardi, Maximilian Schemmer
- Location: Virtual classroom on Microsoft Teams
- Registration: Registration is free here!
Seminar Highlights:
This course aims to provide participants with an introduction to quantum simulations with cold atoms. In the first part of the course, the basics of laser cooling and quantum gas trapping will be presented and two concrete examples of current research in quantum simulations will be discussed. In the second part of the course, we will focus on light-matter interaction with cold atoms, introducing fundamental concepts such as squeezed light and quantum statistics of light, with an emphasis on experimental detection methods.
