I-PHOQS at Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei – October 7th 2025

I-PHOQS infrastructure will be the focus of a national meeting at the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei in Rome on October 7th, 2025, “Le reti di Infrastrutture come motori dell’innovazione: il caso di I-PHOQS, la più grande infrastruttura italiana per la fotonica e le scienze e tecnologie quantistiche”.

Large infrastructure networks play a key role in attracting and concentrating expertise and highly specialized personnel, becoming true drivers of scientific progress and innovation. PNRR funds have provided a unique opportunity to reshape and enhance existing research infrastructures.

In this context, the I-PHOQS JRU (Integrated Infrastructure Initiative for Photonics and Quantum Science) aims to be a national reference point, bringing together the main facilities in eight Italian cities (Padua, Milan, Florence, Pisa, Lecce, Cosenza, Messina, and Catania) in a distributed network. The JRU now provides full access to infrastructures covering the main fields of quantum science and photonics applications, from fusion energy to biomedical diagnostics, from green environmental technologies to agritech.

The conference will therefore be an important opportunity to present and discuss ongoing activities, strengthen I-PHOQS’s role as a leading national Joint Research Unit, and foster new collaborations between Italian infrastructures.
